Peripheral Activities

We hold various other activities on an occasional basis. These include:

 

(i) Own a pony days and half days, usually held during school holidays and half term. These provide an opportunity for riders to participate in basic horse care,

such as grooming, tacking up, mucking out etc. under supervision as well as including some additional riding instruction.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(ii) Gymkhanas (mounted races and games): These range from walking and trotting races to potato and spoon race and ride and run. They provide a change from the routine of instructional sessions and are enjoyed by both children and adults.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(iii) Other competitive events: These include activities such as Condition and Turnout and Best Rider classes, Obstacle and Handy Pony races and Clear Round jumping competitions.

 

(iv)Horsemanship Mornings: These are held on an occasional basis and offer the opportunity for clients to learn in some detail about a particular aspect of horse care or training. For example, the topic of lungeing the horse was recently covered.
